BlackBerry Bold 9790 Kembali Muncul Lewat Serangkaian Video Tutorial

Pertama kali terlihat beberapa bulan lalu, kini smartphone anyar BlackBerry Bold 9790 kembali menampakkan dirinya lewat beberapa video tutorial.

Apakah BlackBerry Bold 9790 menjadi salah satunya. Kita lihat saja.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 leaks again through tutorial videos

A couple of months after it was first spotted, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 is again peeking from under RIMs covers. Also known as the Bellagio, the Bold 9790 is similar to the Bold Touch 9900, with a touchscreen display, 8GB internal memory and running the new BlackBerry OS 7. Which begs the question, why RIM would want to release two similar phones?

Anyway, there is no official word about the phone yet and for now all we have are these three tutorial videos showing off the multi-touch functionality of the display, the keys on the sides and a view of whats under the battery cover.

For all we know, RIM canned this phone in favor of the Bold Touch 9900. Then again RIM did say they were planning to launch a lot more phones in the coming phones. Perhaps they forgot to mention they were going to be mostly similar.

BlackBerry Playbook v1.0.7 update brings new multimedia features

The BlackBerry Tablet OS (that’s the PlayBook platform) just got an update to version 1.0.7. It brings an updated BlackBerry Bridge app, portrait mode in pictures app, pinch zooming in videos and extended language support.

gsmarena 001 BlackBerry Playbook v1.0.7 update brings new multimedia features

The BlackBerry Bridge app is used to connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your PlayBook tablet wirelessly. What’s new with the app is that now you can save email attachments to either a removable SD card or the internal storage of the smartphone. Also you can also download .ZIP attachments to your smartphone for editing or viewing.

Moving on to the multimedia improvements – you get portrait viewing mode support in the pictures app on the Playbook and pinch to zoom while you’re watching a video. The first one is a must nowadays in any photo app on a touch-oriented device while the multi-touch zoom in the video is very cool because all the while the clip doesn’t stop playing.

Finally the v1.0.7 update brings a set of 15 new languages to your BlackBerry tablet – for more information on which just hit the source link below.

The update is available over-the-air you’ll only need Wi-Fi at your disposal to get it. You should get a software update notification in the tablet status ribbon on your PlayBook. To use the updated BlackBerry Bridge app users will also have to update the app on their smartphones.

BlackBerry Touch 9860 prototype goes for sale in Dubai, raises a few questions about RIM’s security policy

Not only is the BlackBerry Touch 9860 not officially available yet, it hasn’t even been properly announced. However this didn’t stop a prototype unit from getting listed on the Dubai ad site of Dubizzle.com.

gsmarena 001 BlackBerry Touch 9860 prototype goes for sale in Dubai, raises a few questions about RIMs security policy

Apparently, someone got hold of a prototype well ahead of its release and decided to earn some cash from it. The asking price is 5,500 United Arab Emirates dirhams, which equals about €1,050 or $1500. For that price you are only getting the handset and a battery and no accessories.

Now that’s certainly a bit expensive, but since it’s the only one on the market (and will likely remain so for a while), it’s not like you have a choice if you want it. Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t contain any specs of the device so we cannot confirm any of the previous rumors, but at least we got another photo.

BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 to hit the UK on 15 September

Still waiting for the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900? Well, at least we've got a more specific launch date now. According to Amazon UK, the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 is coming on 15 September. There's a white version listed too, but it will come a month later, around the 15th October.

Isn't this good news? We are sure many of you are thinking about getting a Nokia E6 just because they are tired of waiting for the release of the Bold Touch 9900. And we don't blame you.

Thanks to Amazon UK we now have the first information about the Bold Touch 9900 release date - the 15 September. We know Amazon is not the most reliable source for these things, but it sounds probable.

There is even better news - Amazon UK has also listed a white version of the Bold Touch with 15 October set as the expected availability.

If all of this is still not enough to convince you the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 is close to release, then you should know that a pre-release model was just sold on eBay UK for £900.

It's coming guys, just be a little more patient. You can check our BlackBerry Bold Touch hands-on here. Meanwhile we are working hard on Nokia E6 review and you should get it soon.

RIM To India: You Know Google And Apple Encrypt Stuff Too, Right

The ongoing dispute between the Indian government and RIM is… well, ongoing, and I get the feeling neither side will be happy with the inevitable compromises. This week the understandably sullen RIM mentioned in a statement what it has likely been telling Indian officials the whole time: Blackberries aren't the only devices with encrypted data services.

RIM aims to launch 7 new BlackBerries this year

RIM is obviously not having the best of times recently, but it certainly hasn't lost its fighting spirit. The company plans to launch seven new BlackBerry smartphones before this year ends, which is ambitious, to say the least.

What's more, the new handsets will all be running on RIM's next-gen OS - whether that is BB OS 7 or the long rumored new OS based on QNX. That should basically be the smartphone-friendly version of the BlackBerry Tablet OS, which we really enjoyed, when we reviewed the BlackBerry PlayBook.

Of course, RIM admits that launching so many new devices in just five months will be quite challenging. The company's co-CEO Jim Balsillie has expressed his belief that they will indeed be able to release the seven new smartphones, which will enable them to meet the year's financial targets, despite the weak first two quarters.

We are quite eager to see what those products will be like. The company obviously had some pretty great ideas with the PlayBook, but that one just wasn't polished enough to become a best-seller.

10 Alasan Blackberry Akan Tetap Eksis

8. Ketergantungan pada BBM

Inilah senjata pemungkas rahasia milik RIM. BBM sejak lama menjadi alasan terbesar orang-orang memilih ponsel Blackberry.

RIM ships mere 500,000 BlackBerry PlayBooks

Playbook-sad

The BlackBerry PlayBook is definitely the most talked about device here on Pocketables lately. In fact, three of us repeatedly gave our thoughts on its software and hardware, until we all had to give them back. That was based on a few things, but most of us returned the device because it just wasn't what we wanted . . . yet.

With that, RIM today released some numbers for the PlayBook that do not surprise me at all. Keep in mind that these probably aren't actual sales numbers, because RIM did use the word "shipped" during its earnings call today. RIM shipped only 500,000 units of its enterprise-ready tablet. While these seems like a lot, the PlayBook has been available for purchase since the middle of April. And although we don't like to talk about it, the original iPad sold 300,000 units in the first day.

Of course, this is RIM we're talking about. They took a beating in their smartphone division, as well. Numbers were at the very low end of the original estimates, and now, RIM is going to layoff some of its workers.

BlackBerry Masih Dominasi Dunia Bisnis AS

CelleBrite System now includes BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850

CelleBrite System now includes BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850
A screenshot shows that two eagerly awaited devices from RIM are now included in the CelleBrite System. The BlackBerry Bold 9930 and the BlackBerry Torch 9850 (aka the Torch 2) are seen on the CelleBrite machine's display. The system is used by carriers to extract information and data from one handset and add it to another. It is the device used by carriers to move things like your contacts from one model to another and while it is not a definitive signal, new devices often are seen on the CelleBrite machine just prior to being launched.

The BlackBerry Bold 9930 is the CDMA version of the device that RIM is counting on to give the company a lift. With a form factor similar to the design of the BlackBerry Bold 9000, including the latter's oft praised QWERTY keyboard, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 adds a 2.8 inch touchscreen (that has looked quite responsive in early videos), the new BlackBerry 7 OS, and a browser that renders pages 40% faster than the WebKit browser on the BlackBerry Torch 9800.

CelleBrite System now includes BlackBerry Bold 9930 and BlackBerry Torch 9850

The BlackBerry Bold 9930 and the BlackBerry Torch 9850 are both now on the CelleBrite System

Speaking of the BlackBerry Torch, the CDMA version of the sequel to that model, the BlackBerry Torch 9850 (aka the Torch 2) takes the same form factor of the original unit and pumps up the specs as we have reported. Considering that RIM has really improved upon the areas of the first-gen Torch 9800 that users complained about (the low-res screen, the slow processor), those who liked the design will probably upgrade to the sequel.

With RIM's reported earnings coming in below expectations, a stock price that has been making new lows, an exodus from the executive boardroom, employee layoffs, and delays in getting out key products, it would be a big morale booster for RIM if it could get these two models out the door soon. Having both listed in the CelleBrite System might be the first sign that this is going to happen.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Refresh still in the works; BlackBerry Torch 2 9850 is now the Volt

BlackBerry Storm 2 Refresh still in the works; BlackBerry Torch 2 9850 is now the Volt
BlackBerryOS got a tip from someone on the endangered species list-a RIM insider-who told them the rumor that the BlackBerry Storm 2 Refresh is still alive and is being called the BlackBerry Monarch. While talk of a Storm 2 Refresh dates as far back as last September, it seems that RIM wanted to wait until they could load it up with the latest BlackBerry 7 OS. The device will resemble the BlackBerry Storm 2 down to the SurePress Technology which means the clicking screen will be back, if this speculation pans out.

BlackBerry Storm 2 Refresh still in the works; BlackBerry Torch 2 9850 is now the Volt

According to a tip from a RIM insider, the SurePress clicking keyboard, seen on the BlackBerry Storm, will be back on the BlackBerry Monarch

While SurePress is certainly an acquired taste for many, RIM would be playing this smart by eliminating the Storm name and starting over with the Monarch moniker. Unfortunately for RIM, hearing the name BlackBerry Storm brings back sour memories for many Verizon customers who expected an Apple iPhone competitor when the first BlackBerry touchscreen device was launched and instead, ended up with a phone that suffered from buggy, half-baked software. Not only did the accelerometer fail to work half the time, but the lack of Wi-Fi turned out to be a major design design flaw and the clicking touchscreen drove many batty. Eventually, with the launch of BlackBerry 5 OS, the original Storm became a serviceable device that was improved greatly with the sequel model (which included Wi-Fi). Still, killing off the Storm name is a good idea for a company that needs to look ahead to the future instead of looking back at the past.

The source also passed along the rumor that the BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860, which along with the BlackBerry Bold 9930 can now be found on the CelleBrite data extraction system as we reported earlier today, will be known as the BlackBerry Volt. While the original Torch wasn't nearly the mess that the Storm was, a disappointing set of specs kept sales down and the Torch 2 Volt 9850/9860 will have very competitive hardware and software on board.

Aplikasi Instant Messaging di BlackBerry PlayBook

BlackBerry Bold 9900 reappears as star of quick video showing NFC capabilties
The other day we reported that Nokia had introduced a device that many feel was a "Hail Mary"-type long shot in an attempt to turn around the company. Whether or not the Nokia N9 lives up to that role won't be known for many months yet. But Nokia isn't the only manufacturer that needs a hot-selling handset to survive. RIM has recently reported lower than expected profits, seen its stock fall sharply, and has had a couple of key products delayed.

One of those products is the BlackBerry Bold 9900. With the same physical QWERTY keyboard from the original BlackBerry Bold 9000 that everyone raved about, and a 2.8 inch touchscreen, this device is expected to not only capture the attention of those BlackBerry users that will always support the latest and greatest 'Berry, but also was designed to grab some attention from Apple iPhone and Android users as well. The new BlackBerry 7 OS might be considered a stop-gap piece of software, installed before RIM switches to the QNX OS it placed on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, but it should allow the Bold 9900 to be a contender. Throw in what RIM calls "an elite browser" and you have a phone that could help turn RIM around.

In an extremely brief video, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 shows off its NFC capabilities. The feature, which RIM has promised will be on all new models, allows one to use a handset to pay for items in the same way that you might use a smart card or a credit/debit card to make a purchase. And while the video is way too brief, at least it gives us a chance to view a working model of the device that could be RIM's savior.

RIM BlackBerry Bold 9900 Hands-on

RIM BlackBerry Bold 9900 Hands-on
With RIM’s future shrouded in uncertainty after reporting some disappointing Q1 results, some might be questioning what might the company be holding that might attract and entice consumers back to them. Well, we recently managed to check out the upcoming BlackBerry Bold 9900, and we must admit, it’s something that manages to capture our attention from afar with its distinguishable BlackBerry looks.

Looking back at it, the original BlackBerry Bold 9000 did indeed reinvent the BlackBerry form factor, but since then, we’ve seen its design heavily implemented in a variety of RIM’s product. Sure we’ve seen interesting form factors with devices like the BlackBerry Style and Torch 9800, but they still mimicked the Bold 9000’s popular design in some way. Holding onto the BlackBerry Bold 9900 for the first time, we’re utterly amazed at how thin this BlackBerry really is! Measuring at 10.5mm thick, it’s naturally one slim looking smartphone, but considering that it packs a 2.8” VGA touchscreen and that lovable BlackBerry keyboard, we’re amazed to see it come together so eloquently with the Bold 9900. Definitely one of the more premium feeling BlackBerry smartphones we’ve seen, its chrome trim bezel accentuates its overall eye-catching looks.

Using the keyboard, we’re happy to say that it’s wide enough to comfortably accommodate our thumbs as the buttons easily provide that sufficient response to make the experience gratifying. Moreover, we no longer have to rely on just the optical trackpad – mainly because the touchscreen makes it more convenient. And when it comes to the platform experience, we have to say that it’s screaming with the handset since it’s packing a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor with BlackBerry OS 7 on board for the ride. Showing off its peppiness, navigating around the platform is pretty much effortless with the handset’s overall responsive tendency.

If RIM is aiming to appease their existing base of customers, then they’re undoubtedly on the right track with the BlackBerry Bold 9900. At the same time though, it definitely has the class, character, and appeal to attract curious eyes. Although there is still no concrete date on when this handset will actually launch, we’re feeling some good vibes with this one so far – but let’s hope it’ll be launched soon!

Wah, sepertinya memang Anda salah satu fans berat BlackBerry. Well, Anda tidak sendiri.
