Fly the friendly skies with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
American Airlines and Samsung have agreed on a deal that will allow the airline to replace the airborne entertainment system on some flights with the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (check out our hot off the press review here). The Android flavored tablet will be found in the premium cabins on some flights.

For example, you can find the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on American Airlines' 767-200 and 767-300 flights from the Big Apple's JFK to Los Angeles, JFK and San Francisco, and on the Miami to Los Angeles route. Those flying a 767-300 overseas to and from Europe and South America will be able to use the Galaxy Tab 10.1, as well as those flying from Boston all the way west to Los Angeles.

American Airlines will use 6,000 of the tablets to begin with and Virasb Vahidi, American’s Chief Commercial Officer, notes that his airline is the first to offer a branded tablet aboard regularly scheduled flights. For its part, Tim Wagner, vice president and general manager of enterprise sales for Samsung Mobile, said that American Airlines interest in the tablet is indicative of the growing enterprise demand for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is available now from the Best Buy Union Square location in New York City and will be launched nationwide on June 17th, according to Samsung's press release. The 16GB version will be priced at $499.99 while the 32GB model has a $599.99 price tag.
